Get the Fuck Out of Dodge

Welcome to Phoenix home of the wild wild West so to speak… As such, I think it’s important we police ourselves when possible and not always wait for the sheriff to clean up the riff raff… Now that you are thinking what the hell is this moron babbling about….
It seems we have a local villain here in the valley. The most vile kind. The sort that steals the hard work of others and calls it their own. Matt Brett a Canadian designer created this site which was stolen and recolored here. The original artist has something to say about it here. Judge for yourself.
So villain you have been spotted. You either need to explain yourself our GET THE FUCK OUT OF DODGE! A simple apology to the original copyright owner would go a long way.
EDIT: It seems that the villain has taken down the offending page and replaced it. This is a good start. Public apology would almost make the situation right. Come on villain do the right thing.
EDIT 2: The villain has publicly apologized and I think he should be commended for doing so. It takes a bigger man to admit a mistake than one to deny it.

Just seeing how things worked wasn’t going to keep it up

Wow, I love how the community stepped up to defend the honor of a colleague. I too, thank Villain for removing the site and apologizing. Lesson learned I hope.

Well believe it or not I am an alright guy. Never meant to disrespect anyone.

@villain
It’s really hard to believe that you weren’t going to keep Matt’s design when you took the time to recolor it, swapped out the website images, and made a tweet about how you “created a new design”.

Its cool People can say what ever they want. Just remember you don’t even know me other than what you see here.

@Villain
That’s right, people are remembered/known by their actions, not their intentions.
Talk is cheap.
You took someone else’s design, went through the effort of tweaking it publicly (with no disclaimer or even permission from the author) , and then apparently claimed (’twittered’) it as your own. Sure you may be an ‘alright’ guy, but that still doesn’t justify that what you did is usually reserved for assholes.
Until you prove otherwise with a more thought provoking response than ’sorry’, you will remain an asshole in my book.

For someone trying to run a design studio, just shrugging this off as “you don’t even know me other than what you see here” seems a little off. You’ve severely damaged if not ruined your reputation. You did wrong by not posting a disclaimer anywhere on your site. You did wrong by making the design copyright to you down at the bottom (I did see that). You did wrong by tweeting about your “new design”. All signs point to you trying to take MattBrett’s design and claim it as your own.
I’ll be surprised if your reputation as a web designer survives this blow.

Alright, shows over. i think he got the point guys.
Everyone makes mistakes at some point in their life… Don’t kick a man who’s down, counting… I sure hope he learned something from this - he may even be so fucking humiliated right now that he actually sits down and creates a web web’stravagant masterpiece.. who knows?
I’m nor defending him at all, copying Matt was fucking stupid. Just leave it for now, if he does it again - then I’ll gladly be the first to get my hands dirty and make the crucifix myself.
